Stanley – Where I forgot to take a picture of the most famous feature

After our lovely Saturday at Repulse Bay, we decided to get back in the same bus on Sunday and just take it a little farther to Stanley.  This time we actually packed bathing suits, only to discover there’s no beach.

But what Stanley lacks in beaches, it more than makes up for in dog-related Guinness World Records.

And if that isn’t enough for you, it has a fantastic playground in a plaza that is surrounded by Starbucks, McDonalds, and every other very Western style restaurant and shop you could possibly want.

While this may not be the best place to go if you’re looking for a taste of local culture, it still has a lovely view, and our kids loved climbing on the rocks by the water.

We wrapped up our visit with a trip to the famous Stanley Markets, where I promptly forgot to take a picture.  The Stanley Markets are dry Markets, so expect to see clothes, accessories and toys instead of butchers and veggie stalls.

Overall a fun day, but the kind of day we could just as easily have had in Australia.
