I haven’t done a great job of posting while in Hungary, but we’ve been busy. We started on Wednesday by visiting St. Stephen’s Basilica. It’s right around the corner from our apartment, and absolutely beautiful. One of the fun things about travelling with an almost 7 year old is that she asks a lot of very interesting questions. Our visit to the Basilica resulted in conversations about different religions, baptism, and the crucifixion of Jesus.
That was all quite serious, and I was keen to spend the afternoon at the Budapest Easter Market to see how it compared to the market in Prague. I’m going to have to declare a draw. Prague’s Easter Market was more colourful and festive, but Budapest has a better range of local foods and crafts.
